Kid Drama has been a pivotal figure in the drum & bass scene for some time now, dropping both solo and collaborative EPs mainly on Exit records with welcome regularity. "Engram 1" is something new though, a single 15 minute track spontaneous assembled from a variety of sources which, although inescapably the work of a d&b master, incorporates elements of ambient and house, expertly cocooned in a shimmer of twinkling synths. It's a captivating listen and hopefully not the first time our Kid will try his hand at something different.
