about

ONSET AUDIO is proud to announce our milestone 100th release, a nine track compilation featuring some of the best names in alternative drum & bass. From humble beginnings in 2009 in Seattle, Washington, the label has grown into a renowned collection of international talent. True to the curated sound, the release represents multiple facets of drum & bass in styles ranging from heavy halftime to melodic ambient. Seattle's Homemade Weapons favors intricate jungle percussion on his remix of D-Struct & John Glist's 'One' while Vancouver BC's Psidream puts together a big halftime refix of Demo's 'Birdman'. Mark Kloud out of Buffalo, NY delivers a tidy halfstep number with 'Zum Wohl', Russia's Inerpois ventures into more experimental autonomic sounds, and 'Into Oblivion' by Atiq sees the Dutch producer's signature moody minimal styles. Both hailing from the deserts of Arizona, Quentin Hiatus puts together an off-kilter percussive workout with 'Drunken Immortal' and Onset Audio alum TZR returns to the fold with the neuro-driven hitter 'Things Left Unsaid'. Rounding out the compilation is a pair of ethereal downtempo pieces- 'Pulsar' from Greece's Nonconforme and Belguim's Pete Satūrn, and 'We Could Have Saved Us' by India's ambient purveyor Aeon Waves.
